PATIENT INFORMATION MANAGEMENT (BBA)

Patient Information Management is an integral part of managing the patient care process and the delicate and confidential nature of patient information. The PIM program offers two tracks for students, based on their interests and previous educational backgrounds.

Patient Care: This option builds upon a student’s clinical associate degree (ex: Medical Assisting) and further develops their patient care skills through concepts like lab technology and phlebotomy and clinical nursing skills in the acute care setting. Students in this track are eligible to sit for Phlebotomy (CPT) and Patient Care Technician (PCT) certification exams.

Long-Term Care/Coding and Reimbursement: This option builds upon a student’s administrative associate degree (ex: Health Information Technology) and further develops their skills in coding, reimbursement, and medical records management to meet the needs of the long-term care facility. It gives students the opportunity to sit for Electronic Health Records Certification (CEHRS).

YOU MIGHT LIKE THIS PROGRAM IF:

  • You’ve got one healthcare degree under your belt, and you’d like to boost your resume with an advanced B.B.A. degree.
  • The experience you’ve had in your educational and professional journeys had led to the desire to add to your skillset and knowledge base.
