MEDICAL ASSISTING (AAS)

Of the many vital members of the healthcare team providing critical patient care is the Medical Assistant.

Medical Assistants serve as liaisons for patients of all ages, performing critical duties like drawing blood, taking medical histories, performing laboratory tests and EKGs, and managing the office through patient interactions. Registered Medical Assistants can also enter information into electronic patient records through the Computerized Physician Order Entry. From small physicians’ offices to large hospital centers, Medical Assistants are a truly invaluable part of any medical organization.

YOU MIGHT LIKE THIS PROGRAM IF:

  • You know you want to work in healthcare but also want the flexibility to choose to work either on the clinical side, the administrative side, or both!
  • An advanced credential (like the RMA) is something you see as valuable and a means to further your career.
  • Beginning your career in only about 2 years is appealing to you.
  • You’d eventually like to obtain further degrees (nursing or physician’s assistant, for example), but earning your associate’s and getting some work experience under your belt first sounds like a good idea.
