Court Reporting students enjoyed a refreshing kick-off to the holiday weekend by having their class on Plaza’s beautiful terrace yesterday. Professor Oscar Garzon met with his CR103-1 students in a shady spot behind the school to work on their steno speeds of 100 to 130 words per minute!
“We decided to go outside to take class in order to enjoy the wonderful weather while at the same time working hard, but in a relaxed atmosphere,” Garzon said. “This week was our second week conducting class outside. Weather permitting, we will be doing that every Thursday.”
The court reporting students worked on mastering one-syllabus words often left out yesterday, practicing writing at different speed levels while focusing on accuracy. Since the students’ steno writers run on batteries and have tripods, it was easy to move those exercises to the terrace to enjoy the warm weather.
