Next week, Admissions and Professor Lazarus are hosting Law Week to celebrate our Paralegal students. Join us to learn more about this field at events April 9 through 13!

Monday, April 9

11:00 a.m. Attorney Ann Stafilias, Esq., presents “Lexis + Online Research” introducing the Lexis Advance platform through a focus on searching for primary and secondary law, tools in cases, and statutes to expand, research, and discuss Shepard’s.

1:30 p.m. Court Clerk Training Specialist Veronica Schmactenberg presents “Electronic Filing” introducing the NYSCEF site with demonstrations on how sign up for and navigate the site, file a new case, file to an existing case, file a 3rd part action, case search, and more.

6:00 p.m. VP of Paralegal Association Mariana Fradman presents “Paralegals in today’s legal community” outlining what makes a paralegal marketable in today’s growing legal community.

Wednesday, April 11

1:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. JD & Founding Director of the George Washington University Paralegal Studies Program Toni Marsh presents “The Who, What, Why, How, and Where of Paralegals”

Thursday, April 12

11:40 a.m. the Legal Hand Society presents “The Need for Paralegals” introducing the Legal Hand Society and the importance of Paralegals in the organization.

Friday, April 13

10:00 a.m. Paralegal Christina Bennett presents “Paralegals in Multi-National Law Firms” describing what it’s like to work as a paralegal at an multi-national law firm.
