On June 25, Plaza College celebrated its 100th graduation ceremony at Queens College in Flushing. Students graduated from several programs in the schools of Business Administration, Allied Health, and Legal Studies.
After students, faculty, and administrators processed in accompanied by the musical ensemble Wholly Brass, everyone was welcomed by Dean of Institutional Research Edward Dee, who spoke about Plaza’s long history of helping students create better lives from World War I to today.
Attendees were led in singing in the National Anthem by student Akeeda Scanterbury. Then, Chief Operating Officer Charles Callahan IV greeted the crowd warmly and unveiled the new banner for the School of Legal Studies. President Charles Callahan acknowledged the many outstanding students in the audience, and Associate Dean Lin Loffert introduced student speaker Juliette Aminova. After her inspiring words, graduates processed across the stage to be presented with their degrees and then joined Dean of Student Life Jonathan Howle in reciting the alumni pledge.
Congratulations to all graduates, and thank you to everyone who submitted their photos! A complete slide show of graduation photos will be unveiled on the Commons in the coming weeks. Stay tuned here to see more official photos and graduation coverage.
