On June 24, Plaza celebrated its 101st graduation at Queens College in Flushing. Students graduated from several programs in the schools of Business Administration, Allied Health, and Legal Studies.
After students, faculty, and administrators processed in accompanied by musical ensemble Wholly Brass, everyone was welcomed by Dr. Edward Dee, Dean of Institutional Research. Attendees were led in singing the National Anthem by student Sharlene “Charlie” Valvano, and Charles Callahan IV, Chief Operating Officer, greeted those in attendance.
Dean of Academic Affairs Marie Dolla was joined by Dean Lin Loffert in welcoming the student speaker, Olexa Capili. (Stay tuned to read her full speech in a future post!) After her inspiring words, graduates processed across the stage to receive their degree covers and then joined Dean of Student Life Jonathan Howle and Director of Student Advisement Candace Nixon in reciting the alumni pledge.
Congratulations to all graduates! A complete slide show of graduation photos will be unveiled on the Commons in the coming weeks. Stay tuned here to see more official photos and graduation coverage.
