Safe Horizon visited campus twice in the last week to offer workshops about preventing sexual and dating violence. After last week’s group discussion about how to recognize different forms of sexual and dating violence and harassment, yesterday’s follow up meeting focused on bystander intervention.
Dozens of students participated in the series during the College Hour in the BBA Center , sharing ideas for keeping women, men, and children safe. The workshops were sponsored by the Student Life department and were led by Safe Horizon’s campus sexual assault coordinator Megan Kordenbrock.
Safe Horizon works to prevent domestic and community violence and provides support to victims. They have a 24-hour hotline at 1-800-621-4673. On campus, Dean Loffert is also able to assist and may be contacted for more information.
