Haiti Relief Initiative - this Thursday - We still need your help!

This coming Thursday, Feb. 18 will be an incredible day for all of us in the Plaza College family. Plaza will join the community of colleges and universities all over the world in an effort to raise money for Haiti. We call our effort the "Plaza College Haiti Relief Initiative." This effort is being led by our two new Honor Societies:

  • Sigma Kappa Delta is sponsoring the Poetry Slam, which take place throughout the day. Students and faculty will be performing a variety of classic and original poetry. We will also be having a bake sale and some exciting raffles, including dinner giveaways and some mystery raffles ...
  • Alpha Sigma Lambda will be sponsoring "Change for Haiti," which will allow students to contribute their spare loose change to raise money for Haiti. Every cent will add up and make a difference! ASL will also be sponsoring a 2nd raffle, which will take place until the end of February - for some very exciting prizes!

The response to this has been amazing so far, but: WE STILL NEED YOUR HELP!!!

** The event will begin at 10:30 A.M., and go on throughout the day until 7:45 P.M. We need both Day and Ext Day students!

** Plaza College has most generously agreed to match the funds that we raise. (So, if we raise $1000, then we really raise $2000) So, let's prove ourselves, what do you say??

If you haven't signed up to help, it is NOT TOO LATE. Even if you can't contribute money, we NEED YOU. All you have to do is hit REPLY and tell me what you'd like to do. There are many ways for you to contribute. You can do any of the following:

  1. Sign up to bring any baked good for us to sell. If, like me, the idea of cooking terrifies you, you may purchase something for us to sell.
  2. You may buy raffle tickets (they are so cheap!) at the Promenade desk between Tuesday and Thursday.
  3. You may volunteer your TIME - you can help us decorate or work at the event.
  4. You may volunteer your TALENT - by performing at the Poetry Slam.

We need everyone - students, faculty, and staff!

Send me an email ASAP - and let's make a difference together!
