Congratulations to Plaza’s latest Student of the Month: Samantha Cipriano! According to Professor Reid Goldsmith, “The ethics that Samantha has demonstrated, her attendance, her focused determination, and the perseverance that she has shown in excelling at this program, all while being pregnant as well as having a young child at home speaks volumes about her character as well as her desire to succeed.”
While impressing her court reporting professors, Cipriano has maintained a 4.0. She says she enjoys the court reporting program’s fast pace. “Whether I’m learning a new stroke, new vocabulary word, or something about the legal process that I didn’t know before, it seems like every day my brain is getting a super intense workout,” she explains.
“Her enthusiasm and dedication to the Court Reporting program are amazing,” said Professor Karen Santucci. “I know she will exceed all expectations and become a successful court reporter.”
Professor Mindy Perlish describes her as positive, focused, organized, and hard-working. “Even though she had a two-year-old daughter at the time, she did an excellent job of balancing the stress and rigors of going back to school after a long stretch in the work world with her usual grace and inner strength,” Perlish says. “She is a great team player, always eager to help someone else, congenial to all, and is a standout addition to any class.”
How does she do it? “I believe the true key to success is finding balance. You have to make the time for fun, but you also have to know when to buckle down and get to work,” Cipriano concludes. “I try not to procrastinate and when I feel overwhelmed about how much work I have to do, I just visualize myself in a couple of years having a thriving, happy family and a lucrative career.”
