#PeopleofPlaza: Johntaye G. is currently finishing his Associate’s Degree for Business Management. Most recently Johntaye is employed as a student worker tutor for Business Associate students at Academic Resource Center in Plaza College. He originally chose this course of study after being inspired by wholesale real estate of residential homes in Queens, Brooklyn and Long Island, a field he is very interested to work in.
Johntaye credits the values of Plaza College to supporting his educational goals. “Academically teachers are always willing to help you and will stay longer after the classes. They are responsive over email and you can always go to the ARC for extra support.” Johntaye credits spending four years in the military at Camp Lejuene in North Carolina with learning mental discipline. He was an active duty team leader responsible for having all supplies and equipment ready for training exercises each day. He takes a no nonsense approach to high achievement regarding his academics advising students that “it starts with you, you get out what you put in. If you’re going to slack it will reflect in your grades. Work hard, stay focused and strive to be great.”
Dean Butchy says, “Johntaye is the embodiment of professionalism as a student and now tutor. His outstanding grades in all courses demonstrate his dedication to excellence in all fields. He is a model of discipline and encourages classmates to expect more of themselves while helping them to achieve their goals. Johntaye is an impressive asset to Plaza’s business program!”
