Students Collect Money and Toiletries for Safe Horizon

March 15, 2017

The Office of Student Life hosted its winter bake sale on Thursday, raising $500 to support victims of domestic violence. Members of the Plaza community contributed baked goods as well as main dishes for purchase on the Commons. In addition, attendees were given purple wristbands, ducks, and ribbon stickers to promote domestic violence awareness. All of the proceeds go directly to support the efforts of Safe Horizon, which aims to stop domestic violence.

This month there is also a toiletries drive for families being supported by Safe Horizon and living in shelters. Donations of new toiletries and school supplies are being collected by Sigma Tau Delta all month, and donations may be dropped off in the Student Life office.

Thank you to everyone who donated and staffed the tables for the bake sale, especially the dedicated members of the Ambassadors club and V-Day club!
