Academy Award nominee (Winter’s Bone, 2010) Jennifer Lawrence wowed us again as she bravely took on the role as “Katniss Everdeen” in The Hunger Games. The young film heroine faced immense pressure due to the enormity of the book trilogy’s popularity, but came through with sound acting and conviction.
For those who have not read Suzanne Collin’s future-shock adventure thriller, the story is about a young ingénue that enters a deadly contest in a fantastically primal world, which most would fear. Despite the archaic acts of violence and mercilessness, it’ll be hard to take your eyes off the colorful display of competition and honor.
Katniss proves that although she lives in a cruel environment, her intentions are clearly humane. Audiences will not have to dig too deep to get into the mood of this young blockbuster, and we promise you’ll enjoy the exploration into this fantastical universe.
The Hunger Games is now playing in theaters. Are you planning on seeing the film? Let us know on the Plaza College Facebook Wall, linked HERE
