At Plaza College, applied clinical experience is at the heart of our premier medical assisting program. Our graduates are Registered Medical Assistants (RMAs), working side by side with doctors to treat patients and keep healthcare centers running efficiently.
Data provided on the 2019 Medical Assisting Education Review Board (MAERB) Annual Report Form shows that the medical assisting program at Plaza College has a placement rate of 94.0% for the graduating class of 2018. Employers reported that they were 100% satisfied with the 2018 graduates placed at their facilities. The exam passage rate for the 2017 graduates is 100%; and the exam passage rate for 2018 graduates is 100%.
Medical Assisting is an Associate of Applied Science degree program consisting of advanced clinical and administrative courses teaching such skills as vitals, EKGs, CPR/first aid, CLIA waive testing, phlebotomy, patient privacy, electronic medical records, patient education, coding, billing, and insurance processing. The Medical Assisting program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (www.caahep.org) upon the recommendation of Medical Assisting Education Review Board (MAERB).
