How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying

By Rosemary Ferreira

The Broadway musical How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying was very fun, upbeat, extremely entertaining, and clever. It is a must-see!

Daniel Radcliffe impressed me the most. I have been a fan of his for 10 years as "Harry Potter," and I was very eager to see him playing a completely different character. I heard so much about this musical, and he was brilliant! Seeing him live was one of the best experiences of my life. Just that morning I was sitting in the living room watching one of his movies. When he came on stage, I couldn't believe my eyes. The biggest surprise was his singing voice. I knew the rest of the cast would be marvelous, but Radcliffe was a big and wonderful surprise.

The choreography by Rob Ashford was flawless. The sets impressed me so much; they were cleverly done and beautiful. The music, especially the songs "Coffee Brake" and "Been a long day," made it very hard to keep myself from dancing. I also fell in love with the costumes. They were extremely beautiful, fun and colorful.

Seeing this show also tied into our studies. Now, I can look at a musical and know what functions each song plays in the show. I understand more deeply what the characters are trying to say, and how they feel.

This experience will remain dear to me for the rest of my life. It means more to me than just going to see a musical; it represents very important positive changes in my life over the last few years, and I will be forever grateful to Plaza College.
