SIGMA KAPPA DELTA, the college’s chapter of the National English Honor Society, presents:

1st Annual Campus-wide Writing Contest.


This contest is open to current student and Alumni. Current students will compete according to their current level of English courses. Alumni will compete against fellow alumni.

The topic is: “How has studying English changed your life.”

You must submit a maximum of two pages, double-spaced, typed, Times New Roman, 12-point font.

Current students submit to their English professors by August 2. Alumni may email their submissions to Professor Jonathan Howle (jhowle@mail.plazacollege.edu) no later than August 2.

Winners will be announced August 10.

Sigma Kappa Delta sponsors a food fundraiser for the Ronald McDonald House on the Promenade during College Hour. Come hungry!

Week of July 12, 2010

Sigma Kappa Delta presents “Name that Famous Writer Week.” Every day at 8:30 AM, a “clue” about a famous writer will be emailed to all students. Check your Campus Cruiser and then use your research skills to decipher the clue. The first to reply with the correct answer wins a prize!

Plaza College Blood Drive!

Alpha Sigma Lambda and Sigma Kappa Delta will be selling an assortment of food on the promenade, from the College Hour to the evening.

ASL will be selling all healthy food, to coincide with THE BIGGEST LOSER. All proceeds go to the Ronald McDonald House.

Winners of the Plaza College Writing Contest are announced during the College Hour.

Sigma Kappa Delta will be having a Book Drive on this day. Books will be collected for local Literacy Programs and the Ronald McDonald House.
