Plaza College students participate in American Cancer Society Breast Cancer Walk
by Professor Jonathan Howle
On Sunday October 17, 2010, 30 members of the Plaza College community, from Alumni to students and staff, participated in American Cancer Society’s Walk for a Cure. Under the leadership of Dean Lin Loffert, walkers showed up in the early morning to walk in various parts of NYC. Most people walked in Queens, meeting at the courthouse in Kew Gardens and walking down Queens Boulevard through Forest Hills.
This year, students Tiffany Graham and Evelyn Cabrera also served as ambassadors and provided great assistance to the American Cancer Society.
In an incredible community-wide effort, Plaza College raised over $3000.00 for Breast Cancer research.
