Paralegals work alongside lawyers to perform substantive legal work like interviewing clients and witnesses, investigating evidence, performing legal research, and preparing reports and documents. Due to the diverse nature of the legal field, Paralegals have the unique ability to choose to work in a specialization they’re passionate about, such as criminal law, real estate law, or family law. They’re employed by many different kinds of organizations, from law firms, to government agencies, corporate legal departments, the armed forces, financial institutions, and even educational institutions.
